Why I Love the "Other Woman"

The Tech Wife

My husband has a relationship with another woman, but I honestly don't mind. In fact I wish he had a relationship with her years ago. It would have made my life much easier. She helps our relationship in many ways. She has kept us from many unnecessary and fruitless arguments. And if truth be told, I love the other woman just as much as he does. So who is this other woman? Her name is Judy.

Just the other day, my husband, Judy and I were all driving down the highway. Judy was able to tell my husband exactly how to get to the location we were going to and amazingly he listens to her. I like having Judy in the car with us because I no longer have to fight with my husband over where to turn or which street to take. Judy tells him and he listens. If Judy is wrong, which happens infrequently, at least he does not yell at me anymore. If he yells at her she doesn't even care. Judy lets him yell. She simply responds by saying, in a matter of fact tone of voice, "make a U-turn if possible" or "proceed to the highlighted route" when we happen to get off track.

We have had Judy in our lives for a couple of years now but I can still remember the many arguments we used to have driving in our car. Why is it that husbands and wives fight over directions so much? Some of the biggest arguments my husband and I have ever had have been over which exit to take on the freeway, or even which street to turn on. I have a much better sense of direction than my husband does and nothing frustrates me more than when he ignores my advice. The thing I hate the most is when he insists he knows what he is doing and then we end up being several minutes late because he made a wrong turn. Of course my husband tries to justify his wrong turn by saying something like "there would have been more traffic the other way" or "this street used to go all the way through." Yeah, sure. Judy is able to show him his errors. I love Judy for that!

Sometimes I take Judy out alone without my husband. She is very useful for some of my business trips. I love having her along especially when I am going somewhere I have never been before. I tell her the exact address I am looking for and within seconds she is able to tell me exactly how to get there and even the estimated time of arrival. Judy is amazing. She is much smarter than me in many ways.

As you have probably guessed by now, Judy is my husband's GPS.  Although Judy is actually a GPS that came with his Acura TSX, there are plenty of portable GPS systems available.  In fact, since I personally know the value of having a GPS system, I told the staff here at Product4me.com that we needed to add GPS to our list of products as soon as we possibly could.  There are so many different features available on these products and since the popularity of navigation systems is rising, selecting the best GPS can be overwhelming.  It can be difficult to select the best choice and unfortunately, finding help at the local retailers or on the web is not as simple as it seems.  Our goal is help our users simplify the search by selecting the features that are important to them.  After clicking the features that are important to you,  and doing a quick side by side comparison based on those features you selected, we can help you find the perfect "other woman" too!
